MRS-2995 Data Sheet
High-Quality Ethernet Switch, based on COTS (Commercial Of The Shelf) Cisco Catalystฎ with the rugged enclosure to withstand severe environment (Land, Air and Sea).
The MRS-2955 Series switches can be mounted in any orientation and operate at harsh environmental conditions.
 DESCRIPTION
MRS-2955Series switches are Rugged-switching products that provide wire-speed Fast Ethernet and Gigabit Ethernet connectivity for deployment in harsh tactical combat environments. The MRS-2955 Series operates in environments such as Military and Home- Land-Security (HLS) solutions. Intelligent transportation systems (ITS), It integrates into military equipment (Mounted and operate in vehicles), and any other applications where the environmental conditions or suspended solid concentrations exceed the specifications of other commercial or standard-industrial switching products.

The MRS-2955 Operates at high temperature, vibration, shock, humidity, rain and dust (IAW MIL-STD-810E), it is EMC Protected per MIL-STD-461, powered in accordance with MIL-STD-1275 and uses Input/Output connectors per MIL-DTL-38999. The MRS-2955 Switches are compact form factor (Small Size & Weight), have convection cooling, and relay output signaling to extend intelligent services such as enhanced security, high availability, and advanced quality of service (QOS) to areas that cannot be served by traditional commercial-grade Ethernet switches.

MRS-2955 line offers functionality for traditional data, video, and voice services, with enhanced intelligent services features for additional security, advanced QoS, and high availability. Intelligent services are critical in supporting the reliability and determinism of best of bread high-quality Layer 2 solutions typical of Military Ethernet deployments, while providing the advantages (standardization, open connectivity, bandwidth, integration, etc.) of an advanced Ethernet switching architecture. These intelligent services include Layers 2- 4 traffic prioritization, rate limiting, and security filtering, helping to ensure the high uptime, low latency, deterministic performance, and data integrity critical for military automation control networks.

Embedded in MRS-2955 switches are network management solution allows administrators to easily configure features, monitor performance, and troubleshoot multiple MRS-2955 switches using a standard Web browser. For larger deployments, MRS- 2955 switches support Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP)-based network management platforms.
